ATHENS, Ga. — For the first time in 16 years, the Georgia Bulldogs will play in a super regional with a chance to go to the College World Series.
The last time they did so, in 2008, the Bulldogs advanced all the way to the College World Series Final, where they ultimately lost to their Bulldog opponents at Fresno State.
But now, here in 2024, No. 7 seed Georgia is looking for history to repeat itself. Back in 2008, the Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech in the Athens Regional and then went on to beat North Carolina State in the Athens Super Regional. This year, they've already stung the Jackets and now look to bring the same fate to the No. 15 seed Wolfpack of NC State.
