ATHENS, Ga. — Simone Biles, the most decorated U.S. gymnast in Olympic history, is coming to the University of Georgia for the gymnastics team's home opener, UGA announced on Tuesday.

The university's gymnastics home opener will take place on Friday, Jan. 17, against Boise State at Stegeman Coliseum. The event begins at 7 p.m., and gates open at 6 p.m. The meet will also be Olympics and alumni night. Single meet tickets are currently on sale online here.

University officials said the first 500 students will receive a gray belt bag, and the first 300 kids at the kid's zone will get a gold medal.

UGA co-head gymnastics coach Cécile Canqueteau-Landi previously coached Biles for the Rio, Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games.  The university said she and her husband, Laurent, are personal coaches to Biles.

"They've been big mentors in like my adulthood (because) they got to see and harness the more mature Simone," Biles said in UGA's news release. "They've helped me a lot not just in the gym but out of the gym, too."
