Here is who the Braves will play in the postseason | Full schedule

The Braves are heading back to the postseason!

ATLANTA — It took until Game 162, but the Atlanta Braves are heading back to the postseason for the seventh straight season.

Every game this season counted, and in the final game of an all-important doubleheader with the New York Mets, the Braves beat New York 3-0 in Game 2 after losing a heartbreaking, emotional roller coaster of a game to begin the day, which sent Atlanta's NL East rivals to the postseason, as well.

It was a Gio Urshela RBI single and a two-run single by Marcell Ozuna that completed the scoring. They were led on the mound in a combined effort by Grant Holmes -- who was fantastic -- and by relievers Daysbel Hernandez, Dylan Lee, starter Reynaldo Lopez, who came in for a relief appearance, Joe Jimenez and Raisel Igelsias.

Atlanta will now travel out West to play the San Diego Padres in the National League Wild Card round, which is a best-of-three series. There will not be any games at Truist Park in the first round.
