PARIS, France — Metro Atlanta native Daniel Roberts booked his place Wednesday in the 110m hurdles final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Roberts, who is from Hampton and attended Hampton High, came second in his heat to secure one of the eight places in the final.

The final is tomorrow, Thursday August 8, at 3:45 p.m. ET (9:45 p.m. local Paris time). It's the marquee event of the night on tomorrow's track and field schedule, the last medal that will be awarded for the day.

Roberts' time of 13.10 seconds was also third best in the entire semifinal session (three races in all), making him a potential contender for a medal in tomorrow's final. He was just 0.01 seconds behind Jamaica's Orlando Bennett, who had the second-fastest semifinal time, in their race.

The 26-year-old is at his second Olympics and already guaranteed to improve on his ninth-place finish in this event in Tokyo.

Roberts finished third in the Team USA trials this year to make his first Olympics, coming off a bronze medal last year at the World Championships.

In both 2019 and 2022, Roberts also won the U.S. national title at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
