PARIS, France — The U.S. men's 4x200m freestyle relay team took home the silver on Tuesday - including a Dunwoody native!

While Brooks Curry did not swim in Tuesday's final race himself,  he still medaled with his team. Curry swam in the earlier heats of the event. According to the NBC Olympics website, countries can enter up to eight swimmers in each relay, even though only four swim per race.

Often, countries have alternates swim in the preliminary heats, like Curry did, to allow the fastest swimmers to be rested for the final. Teammates who swim only in the heats receive a medal if their country earns one in the final.

Therefore, all eight members of team U.S. medaled, even though they did not all swim in the final race.
