USA, — Team USA sprinter Hunter Woodhall wrote a special message to his wife, Tara Davis-Woodhall, after winning gold medals in Paris.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Hunter wrote:

To my wife.
I couldn’t do this alone.
You built me up and kept me accountable.
You believed in me, and helped me grow.
You taught me how to enjoy the moment.
You showed me how to be a competitor.
We did it.

"You truly have no idea that you have the key to this ship. I’m just the co captain," Tara replied.

Hunter, a Paralympic sprinter, won gold in the men's 400m T62 final last Friday with a time of 46.36.

And just a few weeks ago, Tara, a former University of Georgia track and field athlete, secured the women's long jump title at the Olympics after she jumped 7.10 meters.

After both of their gold medal wins, Tara and Hunter each ran over to the other to celebrate.

More about Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall

Hunter and Tara met at a high school track meet in 2017, according to their Team USA bios. They've already crossed the finish line in their love story -- tying the knot in October 2022.

While at the University of Georgia, Tara and Hunter were also juggling another hurdle: long distance. Tara spent a season at UGA in 2018 before transferring to the University of Texas at Austin. Meanwhile, Hunter was attending the University of Arkansas.

“We balance our long-distance relationship by having communication, trust and patience,” Hunter told Elle in a July 2021 interview. “Over the past four years, we learned how to communicate and operate as a couple.”
