PARIS, France — A University of Georgia alum advanced Wednesday out of qualifying to reach the final in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics.
Marie-Therese Obst, competing for Norway, recorded a throw of 61.82 meters which placed her among the 12 best performers who advanced to the final.
The javelin throw final is on Saturday, August 10 at 1:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. Paris time locally).
Obst's throw was good to place her 10th in the qualifying session on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old arrived in Paris coming off one of her career high marks with a bronze medal at the 2024 European Championships.
At UGA she was a 2018 NCAA second team All-American in the javelin.
