ATLANTA — Editor's note: The video above is a previous story about Daniel Haugh.

An Olympic hammer thrower from Georgia saw victory at a national competition on Friday in New Mexico, Kennesaw State University said.

11Alive brought viewers this story earlier this week when Daniel Haugh was training at the university and gearing up for the competition.

For the third time, Haugh won the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships with a personal-best toss of 26.35m (86'5.5"), setting a new world, United States, and facility record. The previous world record had been in place since March 4, 1995, the university said.

"Daniel is the hardest worker and most focused athlete a coach can ask for, assistant coach Mike Judge said. "I could not be more proud of his performance today." Isaiah had an amazing performance as well. He finished second only to his training partner, Daniel. These two guys are amazing competitors"
