PARIS, France — Two athletes who once competed for the University of Georgia will be competing in the women's long jump final at the Paris Olympics, after they staked out competitive ground in qualifying on Tuesday.

Tara Davis-Woodhall, who spent one season at UGA in 2018 before transferring to Texas, recorded the best jump of the qualifying round at 6.90 meters.

Davis-Woodhall finished sixth in this event in Tokyo, but won silver at the World Championships last year and was the best American long jumper at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials earlier this year.

Another former Bulldog who later transferred, Jasmine Moore, also qualified for the final. She had the sixth-best jump in the qualifying round at 6.66 meters.

Moore placed 23rd in Tokyo three years ago, and was second at the U.S. team trials to Davis-Woodhall.

She already has a medal in Paris, however, after winning bronze in the triple jump.

Moore spent two seasons with the Bulldogs before she transferred to Florida.

The final is set for Thursday at 2 p.m. ET.
