An Olympics power couple: Tara Davis-Woodhall celebrates with husband after jumping for gold

It's a love story of the ages, and this couple's support for one another gives all the butterflies.

PARIS, France — The world is feeling the love in arguably the most romantic country in the world this Olympic season.

Former University of Georgia track and field athlete Tara Davis-Woodhall is bringing all the butterflies for those watching the Paris Olympics as photos show her lovingly celebrating with her husband after she won gold in the women's long jump in Saint-Dennis, France.

Following the momentous achievement, the Olympic champion could be seen hugging her husband, paralympic sprinter Hunter Woodhall. The couple radiated joy and love.

Her husband then took to their shared Instagram account to commemorate the win. Tara could be seen with a bright smile as Hunter said, "Everyone wants to know what you would do if you didn't win?"

Tara, still smiling, leaned back and yelled, "I guess we'll never know!"

Hunter has been continuously supporting his wife throughout the Paris Olympics. On Wednesday, a day before she clutched gold, he showcased his unconditional devotion to her and described how Tara inspires him daily to be great.

"I'm so humbled by you. You have battled through so much just to give yourself a chance," Hunter wrote. "You've inspired so many with your authenticity. Showing it's okay to struggle, it's okay to not only be okay."

He said that through all the obstacles she's faced throughout her life, she has continued to fight for her dreams.

"No one has worked harder. No one has been more disciplined," he said. "You inspire me every day to be great. Tomorrow is your moment. Enjoy every bit of it. You are ready."

And it was her moment, indeed. The Olympian, who attended UGA for one season before transferring to Texas, got gold after jumping 7.10 meters.

In general, though, this Olympic power couple met at a high school track meet in 2017, according to their Team USA bios. They crossed the finish line in their love story back in October 2022. Hunter, a double-amputee sprinter, is also going for gold at the Paralympic Summer Games.

Thanks for giving the world a little pick-me-up and showcasing a love of the ages to all, Tara and Hunter! Georgia is cheering you two love birds on.
