ATLANTA — A burst of severe weather passed through metro Atlanta and the greater north Georgia region on Sunday, bringing strong gusts, downed trees and blocking roads.
That includes one main street in the heart of Atlanta that is currently closed.
We'll track traffic developments throughout the morning as cleanup goes on all around metro Atlanta.
Metro Atlanta traffic situations to watch out for Monday morning:
- Debris has 17th Street northbound at West Peachtree Street closed in Midtown Atlanta;
- Downed power lines have GA-16 closed in both directions at Maloy Road in the Griffin area;
- Tree limbs were reported on I-20 West before I-285 in DeKalb County;
- There's also a crash reportedly blocking two lanes on I-20 West at Wesley Chapel Road;
- A traffic light bulb is reported out on GA-70 at I-20 West, causing a holdup;
- Another traffic light bulb is reported out on GA-6 at Old Fairburn road, causing a similar holdup;
- Tree limbs are reported on GA-60 northbound past Hopewell Church Road outside Gainesville.
