GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A portion of Sugarloaf Pkwy. in Gwinnett County is expected to be closed until this afternoon, according to police, after a driver hit a pole and knocked it down.
According to police, there were not serious injuries, though the car did catch fire.
It happened on Sugarloaf Pkwy. at Longmont Dr., a short distance from Cedar Hill Elementary School.
Police said crews would be working to fix the pole, with the road closed until around 1 p.m. this afternoon.
Officials had warned with a wet Christmas Eve and overnight temperature drops, that roads could have slick conditions on Christmas morning.
