A wreck had all of I-20 East shut down early Friday morning in Carroll County, the second major traffic incident this week in the area.
It happened just past Old Carroll Road/Pleasant Ridge Road, and as of 7:20 a.m. had things backed up past 5 Points Road.
There was no immediate word on any injuries in the incident. Georgia State Patrol said multiple vehicles were involved and that troopers were on scene.
A Georgia Department of Transportation estimated end time was originally listed for 6 a.m. It was not initially clear why the closure has extended.
In an incident Tuesday, a pedestrian on the interstate was struck and killed.
