BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Several wrecks involving multiple vehicles shut down Interstate 75 South in Bartow County on Saturday night, according to the sheriff's office.
The Bartow County Sheriff's Office said on social media that I-75 south between mile marker 283 and 288 was closed just after 9 p.m. The post stated that multiple people were being treated for injuries and that a Life Flight medical helicopter was responding to the crash. It's unclear how severe the injuries are.
It appears one of the crashes happened at mile marker 283, which is just two miles away from mile marker 285 and Red Top Mountain Road, where five people were killed following a crash on I-75 in Bartow County almost a month ago.
It's unclear at this time if the several crashes are related or not and what caused them.
