A viewer sent a dashcam video to 11Alive showing the moment the crash happened.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Dashcam footage sent to 11Alive reveals the tense moment a piece of heavy equipment fell from a hauler onto I-75 South near Delk Road, causing significant traffic delays Wednesday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m., blocking multiple lanes and leaving drivers in gridlock during the busy Thanksgiving travel period. The dashcam video, provided by a viewer, shows the hauler traveling in the middle lanes before its load shifts, tumbling onto the highway and overturning.

The Georgia Department of Transportation reported that four lanes were blocked as crews worked to clear the roadway. Traffic delays extended back to Barrett Parkway, leaving many commuters searching for alternate routes.

GDOT officials have yet to determine how long the cleanup will take, as the fallen equipment requires specialized machinery to remove.

Additionally, a crane was spotted near the scene, but it remains unclear if it was involved in the crash or part of an unrelated issue. Investigators are reviewing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
