BLUE RIDGE, Ga. — Another bitterly cold weekend is expected in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, and while there's not expected to be much of any precipitation to cause snow, saw some flurries Friday afternoon in Blue Ridge.
Our live camera in Blue Ridge caught the flurries as they started, and you can watch a replay of the live stream of the snow in the YouTube player below.
The 11Alive StormTrackers are forecasting a second intrusion of cold, arctic air that will send the city back below the freezing mark for around 44 hours.
Temperatures drop below the freezing mark Friday evening, and will not climb back above it until Sunday afternoon. In parts of the north Georgia mountains like Blairsville and Blue Ridge, the consecutive sub-freezing hours could be more than 50.
