List | Warming centers around metro Atlanta as cold temperatures move in overnight

Here's a list of some locations that will open.

ATLANTA — Cold temperatures will stick around in north Georgia during the overnight hours. An 11Alive Weather Impact Alert will be in place again Tuesday morning due the frigid temperatures and wind chills. 

Several warming centers will be open for people who would need a place to go to get out of the cold weather. Here's a list of locations, along with the dates and times for their hours of operation. 

Atlanta

The centers in Atlanta open at 8 p.m. Monday and will remain open until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Atlanta officials said the centers will also reopen Tuesday evening for the same time period.  Transportation will be provided by Fulton County from the Gateway Center at 8 pm. nightly.

Central Park Recreation Center

Old Adamsville Recreation Center

Clayton County 

There are several warming centers in Clayton County opening Tuesday,  Dec, 3 at 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center

  • 1475 East Fayetteville Road, Riverdale, Ga.

Jim Huie Recreation Center and Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center

  • 9045 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro Ga.

Lake Spivey Recreation Center

  • 2300 Walt Stephens Road, Jonesboro, Ga.

Virginia Gray Recreation Center

  • 3499 Rex Road, Rex, Ga

South Clayton Recreation Center

  • 1837 McDonough Road, Hampton, Ga

Flint River Community Center 

  • 153 Flint River Road, Riverdale, Ga

In addition to these six locations, the Clayton County Police Headquarters, which is open 24 hours, is also listed as a warming center on the county's website. It's located at 7911 North McDonough Street in Jonesboro.

Clayton County Community  Partner Overnight Shelters are available based on bed space from 6 pm. Tuesday to 8 a.m. the following day. Those two locations are listed below:

Anointed Vision of Hope

  • 8049 Webb Road, Riverdale, Ga.

Calvary Refuge Homeless Shelter

  • 4265 Thurman Road, Forest Park, Ga.

Cobb County

The MUST Winter Weather Shelter will be open again Monday night beginning at 8 p.m. It's open to women, children and men.  "All winter weather clients must report by 8 P.M. to stay in the shelter and will receive dinner and a hot breakfast in the morning," the organization said on Facebook. 

It's located at 1297 Bells Ferry Road in Marietta. 

DeKalb County

DeKalb County opened four warming centers from Thursday, Nov. 28 to Tuesday, Dec. 3, starting at 8 p.m.

Gwinnett County

Gwinnett has a list of five warming locations that opens whenever temperatures reach 35 degrees and below. The following locations will be open from 6 p.m. Monday until Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Buford Senior Center

Shorty Howell Park Activity Building

  • 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, Ga.
