Election Day Weather Forecast for metro Atlanta, north Georgia

Temperatures will climb into the mid 70s for the afternoon

ATLANTA — Millions of Georgians will head to the polls on Election Day this year.

This year - no high-impact weather forecast should restrict your abilities to cast your vote.

The morning will start with low clouds, fog, and patchy drizzle. Temperatures start the day in the low to mid 60s.

By lunch time, the cloud cover should start to thin out as winds turn more southeasterly. At that point, temperatures should start climbing above 70 degrees.

Partly cloudy skies will carry us through the late afternoon with mild temperatures for this time of year. Highs will range from the mid to upper 70s.

The rain chance for Election Day is just 20 percent. Otherwise with increasing sunshine, the dampness outside should dry out for the second half of the day.

As election results come in, we'll be looking ahead to Atlanta's wettest day in more than five weeks, as tropical moisture from Rafael works up into Georgia.
