LAGRANGE, Ga. — Ten dogs and cats are safe after police rescued them from what they called a hoarding situation.
The LaGrange Police Department said their animal services team recovered eight cats and kittens and two dogs from the home off Johnson Street.
Investigators said the conditions inside the home were unfit for both humans and animals.
Police said the homeowner willingly surrendered the animals to animal services. All of them will be available for adoption by Thursday.
Authorities said the hoarding situation is the second case they've worked in weeks. They previously rescued 30 Mastiff-mixed breed dogs from another home May 31.
