FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — 5-year-old Maddox has already been featured once as the pet of the week, but as a shelter favorite, it remains a mystery why he hasn't been adopted yet.
The Labrador and Mastiff mixed breed are known as the 'gentle giant' of the crew. Cindy Iacopella, the Forsyth County Animal Shelter manager, says that he loves children, other dogs, and loves to give affection.
"He'll stick his face right in yours and give your kisses and he's got the most expressive eyes," says Iacopella.
The longer-term shelter resident was an owner surrender because he would prefer a home without cats.
Iacopella says that he is healthy and 'pretty much perfect'.
Tom and Jerry came to the shelter together as strays. The tabby kittens look very and act very similar, according to shelter staff.
"They are a little mischievous and very playful with one another and other cats," explains Iacopella.
The manager says that the most ideal owner for them is someone with patience who doesn't mind the 'kitten chaos'.
Tom and Jerry do not have to go to the same home.
