ATLANTA — The slate of electors for President-elect Donald Trump is meeting Tuesday at the Georgia Capitol to officially cast the Peach State's Electoral College votes in the 2024 election.
Georgia, which has 16 Electoral College votes, went in favor of President-elect Trump by more than 100,000 votes in November -- 2,663,117 votes to Vice President Kamala Harris' 2,548,017.
That came out to a 50.73% to 48.53% victory for Trump.
The federally-mandated day for Electoral College electors to meet is the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December. That fell on December 17 this year, and Tuesday the president-elect's electors are casting those votes to be sent to the president of the U.S. Senate and national archivist.
On Jan. 6, Congress will meet to officially count the Electoral College votes.
