ATLANTA — President Joe Biden will visit metro Atlanta next weekend as he campaigns during this election season.
The president will visit the area Saturday, March 9, the White House said. Details about the campaign events were not shared.
This comes after First Lady Dr. Jill Biden came to Atlanta March 1 as she tried to reach women voters and gain support for her husband's reelection campaign.
Biden's visit will be just days before Georgians hit the polls for the presidential primary set for March 12. Early voting has already started in Georgia; that will wrap up on Friday, March 8.
Earlier this week, Biden and Trump won the Michigan primaries. The Associated Press reported the wins further solidify the all-but-certain rematch between the two men.
Trump's Michigan win over his last major primary challenger, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, came after the former president defeated her by 20 percentage points in South Carolina, her home state.
