ATLANTA, Georgia — Temperatures in Atlanta continue to be above average. Today, we broke a record high of 85 that was set in 1940 and tied in 2010. Our high of 87, marks the second day in a row that Atlanta has had record breaking heat.
These hotter temperatures will not be lasting for long. A cold front will be bringing us cooler temperatures for the first part of next week. HIghs today were in the upper 80s. But, we are expecting a big temperature drop for Sunday. Some rainfall is possible. But, it will be very light and most people will be staying dry.
Our average for this time of the year is in the low 70s. Even though we are expecting a cooler start to the week, temperatures will be back above average by Wednesday.
