Tracking damage across Georgia as storms move in ahead of Hurricane Helene

11Alive is tracking reports of damage across the state from flash flooding, downed trees and more.

ATLANTA — As Helene moves quickly toward the Florida Gulf Coast as a Category 4 hurricane, those across Georgia are feeling the impacts of storms before the hurricane makes landfall.

The 11Alive Weather Impact Team is tracking its path as it moves. The storm is forecasted to remain a hurricane in southern and central Georgia and a tropical storm as it cuts through north Georgia.

Rain in Georgia on Wednesday wasn't related to Helene, but it has saturated the region, undeniably increasing conditions for flooding as Helene tracks toward the state.
